My name is Alex Rippon and welcome to AR-Stoneworks.
From the age of 15 I worked during the school holidays for Stamford Stone. Doing this, I found a passion for building and stonework that is only rivalled by my love of fishing.
Having decided I wanted a career in the building trade, I completed an apprenticeship in Stamford with a company called Mitchell & Hudson.
I then completed 3 years at college gaining NVQ levels 1 & 2 in Bricklaying and NVQ level 3 in my third year in Advanced Brickwork.
Whilst completing my NVQ’s at college I was also learning all parts of the building trade, including stonewalling.
After the 5 years completing my apprenticeship & college I moved onto working on a commercial building site for Persimmon & Taylor Wimpey Homes.
However, I have always had a passion for stonewalling and so I then began my own company, A.R. Stoneworks, specialising in dry and mortared stone walling.
Since then, as a result of personal recommendations, I have been almost continuously busy creating dry and mortared stone walls in villages in Lincolnshire. You may see examples of my work in the gallery.
